BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Pallavi Saxena is an Assistant Professor in Department of Environmental Science, Hindu College, University of Delhi, Delhi, India and serving as Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) member in iLEAPS, UK and GEIA (part of IGAC). She has been awarded Ph.D degree in Environmental Studies on the topic “Effects of Photochemical Air Pollutants on Selected Plant Species” from Department of Environment of Environmental Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi, India. She has completed her Post Doc from Space and Atmospheric Sciences Division, Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, India. She has also awarded DST Fast Track Young Scientist Fellowship at School of Environmental Sciences Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Her area of interest is air pollution, trace gases and aerosol chemistry and impacts on plant and human health, biomonitoring, nature based solutions, sustainability indicators and phytoremediation and working in this area since 14 years. Dr. Saxena has also been recently selected as Lead Author in United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Report in the section of Air Pollution in 2023 and as Editorial Board Member in Future Earth Scanning Board for the preparation of Report on Climate Change and Biodiversity for European Commission in the year 2023. Recently, she has been selected and serving on “Reviewer’s board” in one of the leading Journal of “Science” i.e. “Science Advances” from 2023 onwards. Dr. Saxena also serving as Advisory Board Member in Ecological Indicators Journal, Elsevier; Editorial Board Member and Associate Editor of SN Applied Sciences, Springer and Review Editor in Frontiers in Sustainable Cities, Frontiers in Forest and Global Change and Frontiers in Agronomy. She is serving as Advisory Board Member of Air Pollution Scientific Initiative (APSI), EnviroComp, USA. Dr. Saxena has been selected as an Expert Member in Informal Group Discussion in Stockholm +50 Meetings. Dr. Saxena has also been selected as a representative participant from Future Earth and India in IPBES 2022 Meeting, Bonn, Germany. Dr. Saxena has been nominated as an Expert to participate in the Katowice Committee Meeting 2022, Sharm-El[1]Sheikh, Egypt. She has recently been awarded with “Women Scientist Award” by “The Society For Science Of Climate Change And Sustainable Environment, India” in 2022. She was also awarded with Gold Medal by Global Sustainability Framework Network (GSFN), UK for her contribution as in learning and development activity (Invited Lecture on Nature-Based Solutions for Mitigation of Climate Change in Urban Areas” in GSFN Conference 2022, UK. She is also serving as Lead Guest Editor in topic “Towards 2030: A Sustainable Cities Perspective on Achieving Sustainable Development Goal 13 –Climate Action” under section Climate Change and Cities of Journal in Frontiers in Sustainable Cities and “Biomass Burning: Causes, Impacts and Control” in Heliyon. She had also successfully completed her tenure as Chair of South Asia and Middleeast Region of Early Career Scientist Network of iLEAPS community, UK from 2017 to 2021. She has also been awarded Jawaharlal Nehru Doctoral Scholarship, CSIR SRF, Young Scientist Award[1]ISPP, DBT BioCaRe Award during her research career. She has published more than 35 research papers in high impact factor journals, 6 books, edited as well as authored in reputed publishers like Springer-Nature and CABI. Dr. Saxena’s one of the publications (DOI:10.1029/2021GH000528) got highlighted in UNFCCC-COP27 conference held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on “Forest Fire Activity in Central India”. Dr. Saxena is an active participant and co-author of TOAR community, USA, IGAC Project since 2015.
